"Hutchinson's Heritage in Song by Curtis and Loretta"

Curtis & Loretta's performance for Historic Hutchinson will focus on the Hutchinson Family, and how their music began a tradition of songs used as tools to raise people’s consciousness in matters such as slavery, women’s rights, and temperance. Curtis & Loretta will perform some of the Hutchinsons’ original songs along with other traditional songs, and also the duo’s own originals. In 1855, the Hutchinson Family from the East Coast founded the town of Hutchinson, and the City Charter gave women the right to vote.
